Medical Insurance Eligible for Tax Relief

This post is for concerns employers who pay medical insurance for their staff.

If you pay your employees medial insurance, and therefore calculate BIK on their payslips then you should complete the ""Medical Insurance Eligible for Tax Relief" field within employee details in Micropay.

Your medical insurance provider (BUPA, VHI etc) will provide you with an annual statement detailing each employee Gross contribution (Gross is before TRS)

Only a portion of the BIK is allowable for tax relief, that amount will be displayed for each employee on the statement from the Medical Insurance company.

Simply enter the allowable amount into each employee record, see example below.

This should be done before uploading the P35 to Revenue.
